I am finally doing it: I am making a website! A few people close to me have been after me to do this. Like a lot of creatives, I fight the perfectionist in me and that can delay progress at times. But here we are! I guess I should start by introducing myself and giving some backstory context.
I was almost literally born with a guitar in my hands. My family was gifted a Kay Classical Nylon string guitar from a local musician and friend. Both his influence and this guitar set me off on a course that I am forever grateful for. Before I could really play, I “wrote” and “sang” my own songs to cassette tape on my Sanyo radio. For album art, I decorated it with stickers and shyly played it for just about anyone who would listen. Since, I have always had melodies and ideas floating around. From the live setting, I started playing in church and a few blues rock bands at BBQ's and local festivals. Playing everything from Journey to Tom Petty to the Eagles and Stevie Ray Vaughan. It would be years from now before I would learn to look up (I am still working on it!).
I jumped into a local studio by 13 with my own songs and a cover of “Kashmir”. That studio gave me the chance to work there occasionally and helped me hone my craft as a songwriter, musician and producer. The experience was invaluable and foreshadowing of what was to come. Multiple high school bands and no success seemed to have fueled the fire to press on. My love for music was/is first and foremost and I have yet to abandon it.
The purpose of this website is to help solidify my current standing and grow beyond it in the coming months and years. I am working on original music as well as collaboration with other artists to share here. My hope is the songs I write find some vibration with someone, somewhere and help in the otherworldly way that music does.
In addition to that, I will be working on a podcast. This will be a different medium for me and the focus of the podcast is still being sighted in. An obvious topic is going to be music without question but the format and other topics have yet to be framed in.
I am just want to be as creative as possible! Hopefully, it resonates with someone, somewhere!
Cheers!
